Griffin’s Bio
Hailing From Maryland, Griffin is a lesser-known boulder specialist who has made impressive ascents across the US and South Africa. His tick list includes some pretty impressive achievements, claiming over 10 8C/V15 ascents in America alone.
During several month-long trips around Europe in early 2015, Whiteside grabbed the attention of the climbing community after bagging the 8th accent of The Big Island (V15), describing the route as the ultimate compression climb. Even more impressive, this ascent came only three days after topping out The Island.
On the same trip, Whiteside also added La Toupie Carnivore Assis (V15) to his resume, bagging the second ascent a year after Nalle Hukkataival. His biggest ascent to date came in July 2018, with the 5th ascent of Daniel Woods’ Creature From The Black Lagoon (V16).
